Trip Breaks Benefit:

If you are a Super Visa holder and would like to visit your home-country during the period of insurance coverage, TUgo has a Trip Break benefit that allows you to come back and forth between your home country and Canada without having to cancel your insurance coverage provided by TUgo. Please note that TUgo does not cover the costs incurred in your country of origin for medical treatment.


Side-Trips Benefit:

With a Super Visa insurance form TUgo, your emergency health care expenses outside Canada are covered with a Side-Trips benefit if you physically remain in Canada for more than 50% of the total period of coverage provided by TUgo. Please note that trips to your home-country are a subject to Trip-Breaks benefit outlined above.


Coverage on Your Way to and from Canada:

TUgo medical emergency insurance for Super Visa stars when you step on a plane travelling from your home-country to Canada and ends at the moment you depart from Canada and land back home in order to ensure the safety of your finances during your flight!

Eligibility Requirements

Determine Your Eligibility:

You are eligible for the TUgo’s Super Visa insurance coverage, if:

– You are under 90 years of age at the time of your application.
– You have a legal permit/visa to come to Canada as a Super Visa holder.
– You are not eligible for or covered by any Government Health Insurance Plan in Canada when you arrive.
– You are not travelling to Canada against your physician’s advice.
– You have not been diagnosed with a terminal medical condition.
– Claimed expenses are arising from acute, sudden and unexpected medical emergencies.


Waiting Period:

If you purchase TUgo’s insurance policy PRIOR to your arrival in Canada, no waiting period applies. In such case, your coverage commences on the departure date from your country of Permanent Residence to Canada. The total length of the mentioned trip to Canada MUST NOT exceed 7 (seven) days.

Waiting period applies, when the insurance is purchased AFTER your arrival in Canada:

– 48-hour (2 days) waiting period in case your buy the policy during the first 60 days following your arrival in Canada.
– 168-hour (7 days) waiting period in case you buy the policy after the first 61 days following your arrival date in Canada.

How to Get a Refund

How to Get a Refund of Insurance Premium?

Important Notice: No premium refund whether full or partial is available, if a claim has been made.


Full Premium Refunds:

– A full refund of insurance premium WITHOUT a cancellation fee is issued, when your request is received BEFORE the effective date of the insurance policy.
– A full refund of insurance premium WITH a cancellation fee is issued, when your request for refund is received AFTER the effective date commences within 10 days of policy purchase.
– If a Super Visa application was rejected, a 100% premium refund is available, if the request for compensation is received BEFORE the effective date indicated on the policy.


Partial Premium Refunds:

– Early Departure from Canada to your country of origin with at least 45 unused days on your policy BEFORE the expiration date. The refund is calculate from the date you have left Canada. A satisfactory proof of departure such as a copy of the Boarding Pass is required.
– Eligibility for a Provincial Medical Plan health plan. The refund is calculated from the date you become eligible and covered under any Government Health Insurance Plan in Canada. A proof of insurance coverage from the province of your residence in Canada is required upon submitting a request for cancelling your TUgo Super Visa insurance policy. Requests must be received by the insurance provider within the first 30 days from the date you became eligible and covered under a provincial or territorial government health care plan.

All Partial Premium Refunds are subject to an administration fee.

Make a claim

How to Make a Claim with TUgo?

In the event of a medical emergency that requires you to seek medical attention, you must notify the Emergency Assistance Center (OneWorld Assist) as soon as possible.

Claim Submission:

– Fill out a Claim Form, which will be sent to you by TUGo, and attach all original medical receipts for treatment and prescription medication. Itemized receipts may be required in certain cases.
– Send the form with your receipts to the following address:
