Side-Trips Benefit:

Travelance’s Super Visa insurance will cover the eligible emergency medical expenses costs incurred outside Canada, except for your home-country, if you physically remain in Canada for more than 50% of the policy period prior to you submitting such claim. The absolute maximum duration of each covered side-trip outside Canada is 45 days in a row, while the trip has to originate and end in Canada for the benefit to apply.


Travel to Canada & Back Home Coverage:

Super Visa insurance from Travelance, your insurance coverage starts on your departure date to Canada and ends once you arrive back in your home-country, provided that the time of your trip to Canada or back home does not exceed 48 hours from the date of departure.

Eligibility Requirements

Determine Your Eligibility:

Applicants who meet any of the conditions are NOT eligible for Travelance’s Super Visa Insurance:

– You have a medical condition for which a physician has advised you not to travel.
– You are under 14 days old or over 85 years old.
– You are currently eligible for any Government Health Insurance Plan in Canada.
– You have been diagnosed with a terminal illness.
– You reside in a nursing home or require assistance with daily normal activities.
– You have been diagnosed with or received treatment for a kidney condition requiring dialysis or a lung condition requiring the use of oxygen the 12 months before the Effective Date.
– You have been diagnosed with or received treatment for: AIDS or HIV, Alzheimer’s or any form dementia, Congestive heart failure, pancreatic or liver cancer or any kind of metastatic cancer, condition requiring a bone marrow or organ transplant.

Waiting Period:

No Waiting Period applies, if your insurance policy from Travelance begins on your Departure Date or the day you travel to Canada.

– 1 day or 24-hour waiting period for injury and 2 days or 48-hour waiting period for sickness will be applicable if your insurance coverage begins within the first 30 days following the Departure Date.
– 2 days or 48-hour waiting period for sicknesses applies, in case you are renewing Travelance’s insurance coverage having an existing policy that has not expired.
– 7-day or 168-hour waiting period will apply for sicknesses, if your insurance coverage begins after the first 30 days from your Departure Date.

How to Get a Refund

How to Get a Refund of Insurance Premium?

Please, note that Premium Refunds will not be issued under any circumstances, if there a claim has been made.


Full Premium Refunds:

– You cancel your insurance within 10 days following the purchase, provided that it happens before the date your coverage begins.
– Your Super Visa applications has been denied. A proof of Super Visa rejection such as a letter from CIC is required.
– No travel to Canada has taken place. A subject to a $250 fee.


Partial Premium Refunds:

– You cancel your policy due to Early Departure to your home country. A subject to $50 fee and a proof of Departure will be required.
– You become eligible and covered by any Government Insurance Plan in Canada. A subject to $50 fee and a proof of coverage will be required.
– You request to cancel your insurance policy and decide to remain in Canada. A subject to $250 fee.

Make a claim

How to Make a Claim with Travelance?

In the event of a medical emergency, you or someone on your behalf must contact the Emergency Assistance Provider before making a claim, if it is physically possible. In case you do not notify the company within the first 24 hours if hospitalized, it will result in reduction of insurance premium by 20% that are otherwise payable of any eligible medical expenses.

Additionally, you or someone on your behalf must also authorize Travelance to access all of your medical documentation from the medical services provider at the location you are/were hospitalized for treatment as well as your attending physician at home, if any.

In order to submit a claim see the following:

– You need to complete a Claim Form.
– Attach all original treatment receipts and/or other confirmation of payment.
– Attach or provide access to a detailed medical documentation.
– Send the these documents to the address written below:

Please note that all claim forms must be submitted during the 30 days of treatment occurrence. Written proof of the claim has to be filed within 90 days and no later than 12 months after the treatment was received or expense incurred.
